Samuel Santos was a high ranking police officer of the National Police Corps of Spain in Madrid, 2009. While searching for his girlfriend Sonia who had been kidnapped by a serial killer he was investigating, Santos was hit by high-speed car and awoke in 1977 Spain working for the Ministry of the Interior under Inspector Jefe Joaquín Gallardo.

Early Life[]
Samuel Santos was born to José and Rosa Santos in Madrid, Spain in the early 1970s. As a child he aspired to become a police officer. In 1977, his father abandoned him and his mother. At the age of eighteen, he joined the National Police Corps of Spain[1] where he was eventually promoted to Chief Inspector. By 2009, he was in a relationship with his colleague Sonia.

In 2009, Santos and Sonia were investigating the murders of a serial killer in Madrid when Santos was collided by a speeding car. The trauma caused by the collision sent Santos back to 1977 where he was working under Joaquín Gallardo.
