The third episode of the US science fiction crime drama, Life on Mars known as My Maharishi is Bigger Than Your Maharishi was first broadcast on 23 October 2008 produced by 20th Century Fox Television and ABC Studios for ABC.
When a decorated Vietnam War vet is beaten to death, Sam's precinct is pushed to the brink to find his killers, but not everyone may be happy with the results they uncover.
- This episode is a loose adaptation of the fifth episode of the British first series. Most of the plot is original, but the subplot of Sam comforting the young son of a murder victim is retained, as is the final scene in which Sam sees his father and his younger self walking to a sporting event.
- Around 24 minutes into the episode, Sam explores a building of which he appears to have memories. After briefly visualizing a nearby empty room as being furnished, he goes inside. As the camera shifts to a view from inside the room, a hand wearing a watch can be seen holding open the door on the far right of the screen. It is unknown whether this was inserted as part of the cryptic nature of Sam's world, or simply an accident that was not fixed in editing.
